- ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆Rude. Rude. Rude. The tellers act like they are doing you a favor to do simple tasks like deposit money. God-forbid you dont have all your information right they will sigh and act like you are wasting their time. Ive never been treated so rudely at a bank... and its not a one time thing either. It happens every time, almost regardless of what teller Im talking to. Other branches are slightly better, but not much. M&T either needs some serious customer service retraining or needs to treat their employees better as they appear to be taking it out on customers. I only switched because HSBC left the area-- I never felt like HSBC was super nice or anything, but I guess I just took for granted a smile and a helpful, pleasant teller... silly me. Stopped into Solvay the next day after deciding to switch-- and its literally night and day difference. If you want to bank local, try Solvay. If you want a national branch, better customer service and more branches elsewhere. Also, they dont have withdrawl forms. At all. If you want to get money out of your account, better have a check ready or use an ATM. I always found that really really weird.By Mike Saltzman, August 16, 2017
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆M&T Bank Stole $2600.00 from my bank account. They executed a levy from a different company on my bank account with a different address, tax id and company name. I am now suing them for the stolen funds. If you own a business stay away from M&T bank, they are criminals in my opinion. 6-1-11 Update: M&T paid $2300.00 to settle the small claims action I had against them. It would have been better if they paid the whole amount back. Negotiating with them to fix an error they made was definitely not customer friendly. As I told Barb Petruso in their legal department, I wouldn’t do business with M&T again even if they were the last bank in the country.
